How Summit Foods Created the UK’s Favourite Frozen

The idea behind the Big Stack
The concept for our Snacksters Big Stack burger originated from a personal experience shared by one of our sales team members at the time. As a family man with three kids, he enjoyed treating his children to their favourite takeaways on Friday nights, a tradition they all loved. This love for drive-through treats inspired the idea to create a frozen product line that could replicate this experience at home.

Our mission for our frozen range was clear. To develop a range of products that matched the quality and taste of leading high street brands but could be sold at a fraction of the price in supermarkets across the country. We aimed to offer convenient, freezer-friendly products that families could enjoy anytime, providing a treat that rivalled their favourite takeaways.
The real challenge was not just in reformulating and improving the products but also in combining the packaging of our various brands into a single, cohesive brand image for Snacksters. We created a contemporary, clean design that would stand out in the freezer aisle. This ambition led to the creation of the Big Stack brand known today.
The
journey of the Big Stack
We launched the Big Stack range in November 2020 with five initial products. Over the years, we continuously refined our offerings, introducing bigger sellers like chicken nuggets and tenders. Our drive for the highest quality was further solidified in January 2024, when we relaunched the Big Stack using 100% British and Irish beef, complemented by our signature delicious burger sauce.
Despite the inflation challenges of the past three years, we have worked diligently to keep our prices low. Our products provide value for money for families and households facing financial challenges, ensuring they can enjoy takeaways at home without breaking the bank.
Additionally, we have collaborated with our chefs to offer creative ideas for customising their Big Stacks, creating their very own style of Big Stack. This led to the launch of our campaign “How do you stack up?” encouraging customers to ‘pimp their burger’. From the Breakfast Stack to the Mac ‘n’ Cheese Stack, our ideas ran wild!
